The Game
Casino Stud Poker is played using a single deck of cards with the standard poker hands as the ranking hands. The object of the game is to gain a higher poker hand than the dealer using the five cards initially dealt.

To Play the Game
To play the game the player must first place an ante bet or a combination of an ante bet plus a progressive jackpot bet. This is achieved by clicking on the betting box to place the selected chip on the box. To remove a chip, PC users may "right-click" on the chip to remove it from play. Mac users should click whilst holding the apple key to perform this task. Once the player is satisfied that their bets are correct they initiate the deal by clicking on the deal button. The dealer will then deal five cards to the player and five cards to themselves, four face down and one face up.

Player Options and Terminology
This section describes the various options for the player once the initial cards have been dealt.

Fold
If the player decides that their cards are not of a significant value to play they may choose this option to discard their hand and forfeit their ante bet.

Raise
If the player decides that their hand is one that they would like to play they may click on the raise button. An amount exactly double that of their ante bet will be automatically placed on the raise box and the game will continue. Once the raise bet has been placed the dealer will then expose their remaining four cards and a comparison with the player's hand will be made. Note. The dealer will only qualify with an ace / king or higher. If the dealer does not qualify then only the player's ante bet will be paid at odds of 1:1. If the dealer qualifies with an ace / king or higher then a comparison with the player's hand is made. If the player's hand is higher then they are paid at odds of 1:1 on their ante bet plus the odds on their raise bet as laid out in the table below;

Royal Flush 100:1 This is the highest hand in Poker and consists of the following cards: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten, all of the same suit.

Straight Flush 50:1 This is a combination of five cards in sequence and all of the same suit.

Four of a Kind 20:1 This is a combination of four cards of the same denomination, one in each suit.

Full House 8:1 This is a combination of three cards of one denomination and two cards of another denomination.

Flush 6:1 Five cards all of the same suit.

Three of a Kind 3:1 Three cards of the same denomination and two unmatched cards.

Two Pairs 2:1 Two different denominative pairs and any fifth card.

One Pair 1:1 Two cards of the same denomination and three unmatched cards.

Ace-King 1:1 The hand includes an Ace and a King with three unmatched cards.

In the event of both the dealer and the player having the same ranking hand the hand with the highest qualifying set will win.i.e. both the dealer and the player have one pair the dealer has a pair of sevens; the player has a pair of eights. In this event the player will win. In the event of both the dealer and the player having the same pair then the next highest card known as the "kicker" will determine the winning hand. i.e. both the dealer and the player have a pair of tens the dealer's next highest card is a nine; the player's is a jack. In this case the player will win. Only if all five cards are identical in value will a standoff be declared.

Progressive Jackpot
At the start of the game the player has the choice of placing a bet on the progressive jackpot box. This bet enables them to be entered for that game only into the progressive jackpot game. If the player receives any one of the top five ranking hands they will win either a percentage of the progressive jackpot fund or fixed cash prize as laid out in the table below.

Flush   Will win 50 units
Full House   Will win 75 units
Four of a Kind   Will win 100 units
Straight Flush   Will win 10% of jackpot fund
Royal Flush   Will win 100% of jackpot fund
These payouts are made regardless of whether the dealer qualifies or not. They are also in addition to any payouts you may receive as part of the normal game. Once the full jackpot amount has been won it will be reset to a default amount.
